Zachary Robert Anderson
Zachary was born to Rory and Toni (Aamoth) Anderson on July 22, 1985 in Williston, N.D. He was raised and educated in Williston, graduating from Williston High School with the Class of 2003.

During his youth wrestling was a big part of his life. Zach was a member of the Montana AAU Wrestling Assoc., USA Wrestling, Team ND Wrestling, Team Montana Wrestling, Williston Taekwondo/Judo Club and NDHSAA Wrestling. He was a Montana AAU Youth Delegate, placed 6th in the ND State High School Wrestling tournament in 2003, and was a four time Montana AAU State Wrestling Champ.

After completing his schooling he worked for Jerry’s Weed Service, Nabors Drilling, Baker Oil Tools, Natco, and was currently with American Casing.

As an active young man Zach filled his days with many varied activities: hunting, bow hunting, 4-wheeling, skiing, judo, fishing, and camping. He very much enjoyed music. He kept involved with wrestling and volunteered his time refereeing wrestling matches.

But his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. Zach was always able to make you laugh. He had a 100 watt smile and had a wonderful way with people.

In 2005 Zach entered the rehab center at Mercy Recovery Center. He learned so much about himself and life while there. He believed in what he learned and used it to help others. Many times you would see Zach at the Center playing cards with the patients or helping in some other way. He attended AA meetings every chance he could and enjoyed when he was able to help with the meetings. Zach stood behind what he said and made many changes in his life.

On January 29th 2006 Zach was killed while working on an oil rig near Flaxton, ND. He was 20 years old at the time of his death. He is dearly loved and missed by his family and friends every day.

This scholarship was set up by Zach’s family to help a student with financial needs for school. It is open to male and female athletes either graduating from High School or already attending College.

Zach is loved and survived by his mother and father, Toni and Rory Anderson of Williston; his two brothers Derik Anderson of Dickinson, ND and Dustin Anderson of Williston, ND.

This is a site dedicated to the memorial of Zachary Robert Anderson (1985-2006).
This is to my light and Inspiration
To whom I devote all my Dedication
They said I have a Disease

At first it was so hard to see
And now I’m getting treatment
But when I close my eyes at night
that’s when I see your face,
And now I believe.
